***My Personal Review***
Have you heard of Matcha Green Tea? It has been hailed as an amazing weight-loss ingredient and is actually quite tasty in smoothies, ice cream and lots of other foods. It helps with memory and concentration as well - there are SO many benefits to using this and it comes as a powder that you just mix in - so no prep needed just add it to whatever you are making and let it flavor your food :)
I am not normally a tea-drinker but every once in a while I will try something new, so when I saw this it looked pretty good and looked into it a little bit, and it is all organic and the powder is ground from fine Japanese green tea leaves. Matcha Green Tea is also what they used to use in traditional Japanese ceremonies although there are 2 varieties - the Ceremonial and the Culinary Grades! And I have always loved the tea they serve in Japanese restaurants so I gave it a whirl! It was really easy to make - I just boiled some water and poured the powder into my cup and stirred :) I would liken this tea to a bold roast coffee as it is quite strong. But the flavor is intense and has just a tiny bit of sweetness to it. It is extremely smooth going down. It was amazingly good and comforting. I have not yet tried but I think it would be a good flavor to add like to a chai smoothie maybe or something similar? This tea also has a lot less caffeine in it than a cup of coffee and if you want to keep it all organic you could add some soy milk and possibly some agave syrup to sweeten it up without adding too many calories :)
Now I have never been to Japan and never went to a tea ceremony - but I have seen it on tv that they use powder for their tea and not tea bags. So I assume this is the closest you can get to original Japanese tea without ordering from overseas. I definitely recommend this brand, I was pretty impressed with it and it is not overly expensive which is a definite plus!
