Rayna struggles to piece her life back together,
but hiding in plain sight from the police, the SS Crazy, and the Fallen isn’t a
foolproof plan—something Kade, the World’s Worst Roommate, reminds her of
everyday. The late nights of failing to teach Ray how to protect herself
against the Fallen are getting to Kade, changing him in ways he doesn’t like,
and after a family emergency sends Ray back into Cam’s arms, Kade decides he’s
had enough. News of Rayna’s resurfacing brings both angels and the Fallen to
San Francisco by the dozens, all eyes scouring the city for the girl with the
gray wings. Rayna will need both Kade and Cam’s help to ensure her family’s
safety, navigate the new dangers and enemies springing up all over the city,
and manage the surprises that arise with her new set of wings.

sometimes evil) cats, Kitties A and B.

***My Personal Review of A Shimmer of Angels***
I give this book 5 stars, I thought it was very compelling and emotional. Rayna can see both dark and light angels, and everyone thinks she is crazy. She has to keep her secret under wraps in order to survive each day as she sees wings on the angels and tries her best to ignore it and pretend. But as much as she tries to fight it, once she has the sight it doesn't go away. And of course everyone looks at her like she is crazy, and that really comes across in the book, the reader can definitely relate to Rayna and she is a sympathetic heroine. I really loved the way the author used allusions to "light" and "dark" throughout the book, it really held with the theme - although a lot of people may not see it or realize it :) I am a student of literature so I tend to analyze everything.
Rayna finds some comfort in a dark angel that no one would have expected but also drawn to a light angel, the characters of Kade and Cam are amazingly different and very complex. So how can she be drawn to them both? I honestly believe that in the end she will choose Kade - as he seems to be exactly the opposite of the "darkness" she has come to believe is in him. Cam is wonderful, but perhaps too good and the heroine usually chooses the bad boy turned good. I can't wait to see what happens in the second book now!

***My Personal Review of A Slither of Hope***
Another 5 star book in the second installment of the Angel Sight series! In this book we find Rayna who can see angels still struggling and Kade is struggling as well. I knew Rayna was going to choose Kade in the first book, I just knew it! But will the new dangers that are coming their way destroy that bond? You will have to read it to find out! I loved this book just as much as the first one, it was hard to put down once you started reading it, and Kade makes as much of a great hero as Ray does a heroine! I like Cam as a character, but I really love Kade, he is so complex and fighting so many demons inside and outside himself. I really felt bad for Rayna when she finds out about her mom though in this book, it was quite a shocker!
Another thoroughly enjoyable book from Lisa Basso, really hope she continues with this series! She does a great job with the angels versus demons theme in both books and really makes the characters come to life for the reader so that we feel their pain and suffering and when they succeed we feel like WE have accomplished something too :)
