Delta the Fussy Dog
by Skyler Andra and illustrated by Karen Kalbacher
Delta the dog loves lots of things: her parents, walkies, stinky socks and chicken wings. But there's one thing Delta doesn't like: when her parents slip vegetables into her dinner bowl. After a disastrous, cauliflower-infested birthday meal, Delta declares war on vegetables. She soon finds out that eating chicken wings everyday isn't as good as it's cracked up to be.

***My Personal Review***
This was my first chance to read any of Skyler's books and I must say it was great! I love books that are aimed at getting children to do things they don't like or don't want to do in a fun way :) And of course what kid doesn't love dogs? Especially one as cute as Delta! But Delta only likes chicken wings and won't eat her veggies :( What to do? Well the book tells a tale of a good but very fussy dog who learns her lesson well!
The illustrations in this book were so cute and whimsical, and a child would easily get the message that vegetables are a good source of nutrition and health :) I read this when my 7 year old wasn't home but I will read it to her when she gets back and I know she will love it! I am sure she will try to tell me the story using the pictures! I definitely want to read more of the Delta stories :) Very well written and sure to delight children!
