***My Personal Review***
I am NOT an artist. So when I got the chance to review a product that would help me make my pictures look like they were paintings, I jumped! I have not been disappointed :) The OilPaint program is amazing! It is so easy to use - I have Paint Shop and I can usually figure out a program but this one took me a few minutes and I didn't even need to use the tutorial to figure it out. And let me tell you I am not one of those people who takes gorgeous pics LOL - definitely an amateur. BUT I have went to Washington DC the past 2 years to the Rare Disease Legislative Conferences and I had some pretty cool pics of our Capitol that I thought would work.
I love the way it made my pictures look - they honestly looked like they had been painted by someone! I was amazed so then of course I went crazy and had to make oil paintings out of every pic I really liked :) I plan on having a few of them put onto a canvas for my wall they turned out so well! And the best part? You can choose what "type" of look you want for your picture - and when you open your pic it shows a box over a portion of it that shows you what the "finished" piece will look like if you choose that look. There are about 22 different looks - classic, pastel oil, short and long stroke, wavy stroke, and many more - and you can scroll through them quickly and see the change on your picture until you find one you like best. I used several different types, I tried the classic and the pastel oil and I also tried a few more just to see what they would look like. So basically you can choose from the picture being very close to the original or you can drastically change it so that no one would even know it was a real photograph.
All in all I would give this program 10 stars if I could! It is absolutely amazing and I will most definitely be using it a lot. I can only imagine what photographers and artists could do with this program - it would be a great utility for them. And another plus is that if you are a Photoshop user it can be used as a plugin for that program! I don't use Photoshop or have it so I could not use this feature, but I will most definitely be getting it in the future to use - especially after seeing the results. I am extremely happy with this program and very thankful I got to try it out!
