BLURB:
Nothing sucks more than being forced to move cross country
during senior year. And Dominique Wells doesn't think things can get any worse
until she's invited to a quirky neighbor's party. When pressured into playing a
magical card game, Dominique's world goes from sucky to terrifying. She begins
having visions of a red desert and an evil presence--a presence who hints at
past lives and promises to kill her.
Plagued by fear and suspicion, and unaware of a family secret kept hidden from her, Dominique is determined to live. Together with a mysterious and gorgeous guy who's moved in while his parents are away, and a hot, popular guy from school, Dominique must seek clues to her past if she's to survive. That, and keep her emotions in check for the two guys she suddenly can't stop thinking about because if she doesn't, she'll be dead. For real.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Rose Garcia is a lawyer turned
writer who's always been fascinated by science fiction and fantasy. From a very
young age, she often had her nose buried in books about other-worlds,
fantastical creatures, and life and death situations. More recently she's been
intrigued by a blend of science fiction and reality, and the idea that some
supernatural events are, indeed, very real. Fueled by her imagination, she
created The Transhuman Chronicles--a series of books about people who have
overcome human limitations.
Rose lives in Houston with her
husband and two kids. You can visit Rose atwww.rosegarciabooks.com

I asked Rose about her all time favorite books for my stop on the tour! Surprisingly we have quite a few of them in common :)
Top Ten Favorite All-Time Books of Rose Garcia
This question is so hard to answer because I’ve read a ton
of books. However, there are only a few that have made a lasting emotional
impact on me. Some are MG, YA, and Adult. Some I indicate singularly, whole
others I mention the series because I loved the series as a whole. I also
include a short explanation of why these books stayed with me. So here goes!
The Stand by Stephen King: (Adult, Horror) While
Stephen King is the master of horror, and this book has elements of horror,
it’s mostly a supernatural tale of good versus evil, and that’s why I love it.
I also love the friendships established and the lengths that people will go to
do the right thing.
The Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind: (Adult,
Fantasy) These books feature strong female characters that kick ass. I also
love the romance between Richard and Kahlan. No love triangle in this series,
but there are a lot of circumstances that tear them apart.
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins: (YA, Dystopian)
I was blown away after reading the very first chapter—the imagery, the depth of
emotion, all with little to no dialogue.
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer: (YA, Paranormal Romance)
A hot vampire, a forbidden love, tons of tension. Yes, I’m team Edward.
Flowers in the Attic Series by V.C. Andrews: (YA,
Gothic) OMG, this book is my first book love. I still remember the feelings I
had when I read it: shock, horror, disbelief.
But also, I could understand how the brother and sister locked up in
that attic for so long could develop feelings for each other.
Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett: (Adult, Historical Fiction) This is the first
sweeping epic I’ve ever read, and I loved it! I also read the prequel, World
Without End, and loved that too.
Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card: (Middle Grade,
Science Fiction) The tone of this book is heavy and dark. I was immediately
sympathetic towards Ender and the circumstances he found himself in and
desperately hoped he would be okay at the end.
Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling: (MG/YA ,
Fantasy) Harry, Hermione, and Ron. Need I say more? I love them and always
will. Especially Hermione. And I always thought that Harry should’ve ended up
with her. *shakes fist at Rowling* (LOL)
Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan: (MG, Fantasy) A
series about the offspring of Greek Gods? Trying to save the world? And
maneuver through hormones and emotions? Yes, please.
King Arthur Series by Mary Stewart: (Adult,
Historical Fiction) I’ve read just about every King Arthurian book out there,
and these are the BEST. Hands down. They’re told from the viewpoint of Merlin
with a ton of historical accuracy that makes everything seem so real. And some
of it is.
Thank you for having me on your blog!!
You are SO welcome Rose! And thank you for honoring my blog guests with your answers! And did you also hear that JK Rowling has now said she thinks she made a mistake by not putting Harry and Hermione together LOL? And I completely understand having read so many it's hard to choose, I myself am a huge fan of the HP series and the Twilight series :) Thanks for stopping by!
