Evie lives an idealic lifestyle until she travels to Seattle. Here she believes her dreams can flourish.

But will her love save her when she is involved in a riding misfortune?

Snippet:

“More like ‘the whipping boy’ around you and Kevin. I always knew Kevin loved me when he teased. Even when you guys were hurtful, Kevin gave me a hug later when we gathered as a family. But not you. You laughed it off. I’m not mad, Justin. But it’s past time I let you know, your teasing hurt.”
Shocked, Justin forgot to breathe.
Evie slipped off the desk and left the room.

Justin’s stomach dropped. He was stunned at her words. He sucked at the air, catching the scent of her perfume and sank back into the chair. His knee throbbed. He eased his foot onto the desk. A sense of loss burned in his belly. He hooked the door with his cane, closing it. A shudder of remorse wracked his body. Where had he gone wrong? He tried to remember just one, any specific incident of teasing without success. Would she have let him apologize when he knew his words cut her deeply? Would he have been enough of a man to apologize? Maybe he should’ve swallowed his pride and hugged her just like Kevin did, but he’d wanted more, so much more. Yes, he remembered one night in particular. He hadn’t teased—at least not with his words. Oh, he had teased himself as much as he did her on that night. He’d enjoyed that ‘teasing’ and planned for a whole lot more. That damned promise. She’d been off limits once he made that promise. Did Kevin still hold him to that promise? Was it too late?
